Hi, everybody! Well we’re almost to May. (long sigh) I hope you’re all hanging in there. Reading or listening to anything good lately? Bought myself Kid A on vinyl recently - still a stunner.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the online shows I’ve been playing at my Facebook Page. Made it to #10 so far! And if you haven’t seen them you can go there and scroll through the posts and see hours of songs. They’ve been a lot of fun to put on for you - and there’ll be an announcement about my May schedule very soon.
I wanted to share some cool news - I’ve made a video for my song ‘Hold On’ and submitted it to NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest. Here for your consideration:
I think I’ve made a pretty song, here. Over time I’ve found some interesting counter melody and added an intro and outro, sometimes. It’s been a joy to place my palm on this one’s chest and feel it expand and contract. The ribs and the nuance. The power and the engine. Song making is a beautiful thing. You can make a beautiful piece in a day and it’s time that tells you what earrings go best with the necklace. Does the tie really match the belt, what about this one? It breathes, you see. So as ‘Hold On’ has gotten longer in the tooth it has revealed to me it’s charming personality and depth. I hope that I have done right by it and you can appreciate her outfit, as well. Thank you for viewing, tuning in, sharing, subscribing, and being a downright beautiful audience. I am with you over the miles, Geoff
