Happy 4th Birthday!

4 years ago today I was in Knoxville, TN and played the “Blue Plate Special” live on WDVX. Was a warm and loud crowd. Comfortable stage and nice trip. This song in particular felt really right that day, and I wanted to share it with you.

It’s a murder ballad called ‘Don’t Leave Me Now.’ The meaning of the song has morphed and bloomed over the years from the vantage of a wounded, codependent pleading person. Something happens inside that person and over the course of the cycles through the same chorus words, the narrator becomes a vengeful killer. I love that about it! And I hope you enjoy the song, too.
